A warm summer greeting,
This time, a truly refreshing one, because the recent heat left us all feeling thoroughly overheated. It was as if summer had invited us, for a few days, into its own blazing cauldron, where we all unexpectedly found ourselves together.
The weight of the heat drove the birds from the gardens, leaving behind an almost complete silence. Even late into the evening, I couldn’t hear a single birdsong.
Even the fruit trees stood quietly, gazing into the distance, gently letting their still-unripe fruit fall to the ground, as though relieving themselves of what they could no longer carry.
A slower pace quietly settled into our homes and streets. Bodies warmed by the heat turned away from heated words, overwhelming topics, and increasingly from computers and phones. As though our minds, too, longed to cool down.
We all found ourselves longing for lightness. Lightness in our bodies. Lightness in our homes. And so we began letting go.
First came the extra layers of clothing. Then the endless tasks, heavier meals, intense fragrances, and eventually even part of our usual skincare routine.
Only a few days earlier, I had my familiar summer skincare ritual. During those particularly hot days, however, everything changed. Only the essentials remained.
Water.

How much water my body needed. From within and from the outside.
While my skin gratefully welcomed water, it became surprisingly reluctant even toward lightweight creams. It was producing so much sebum that it constantly appeared oily.
But I wasn’t fooled by the shine. I knew that skin can look oily while still being dehydrated. I listened to it and simply gave it more water.
Gentle cleansing felt good. And immediately afterwards, water again.
If your skin also seems oilier than usual during the summer, try listening to it for a day or two. It may quietly show you whether it truly needs less skincare—or simply more water.
Every summer teaches me, once again, the lightness of adapting. Nature doesn’t resist the heat. It adjusts to it. It steps back and waits.
I feel that water takes on a very special meaning in summer. It brings us a sense of lightness and ease. By the sea or a lake, but also in the simple rituals of drinking water or washing our face and body.
That is why, during the summer months, I am almost never without my Linden & Neroli Facial Mist. It is a small ritual, yet such a refreshing moment—one that reminds me, again and again, that caring for our skin can be beautifully simple.
May your everyday skincare feel just as unhurried. Sometimes less truly is more. But never without water.
How do you listen to your skin during the summer?
I wish you gentle summer days filled with slowness, the freshness of water, and the lightness of kind words and gentle touches.
Warmly,
Simona
